About Us Hike Kit Outdoor Gear is an independent Outdoor store in Cardiff owned by Outdoor enthusiast for outdoor enthusiast .
Our new online shop is full of specialist gear chosen by ourselves for like minded people. You will be able to find an extensive and expanding range of equipment for walkers, climbers, campers and the adventure seekers among you.
We offer a range of clothing, footwear, backpacks and bags, sleeping bags, tents, climbing gear, maps and all the accessories you could need for your adventures!


Making A Purchase Making a purchase could not be easier. Just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order.

We accept Visa and Mastercard. We do not charge for any item until it is ready to ship. Backordered items are not charged until they are shipped. You may contact us with your credit card information via phone or over the Internet.

When confirmation of order is received, this is to indicate that we have received your order. It does not indicate that a contract exists between us. We will indicate acceptance of your order, and hence a contract between us, when we send you an invoice. We have included this term to protect us in the case that a mistake has been made in pricing, we have inadvertently under-priced goods, or we are no longer able to supply a particular product for some reason. In the case of a change of price, we will always contact you first to ensure that the price is acceptable.

We only charge you when your order is dispatched. All specially order items will require a deposit and will not be refundable unless it incurs a manufacturing fault.

Price and Print Errors:
Whilst we make every effort to ensure that all details published are correct no responsibility will be accepted for errors and omissions. We reserve the right to alter specifications and prices without notice.
Occasionally when we remove products and especially if you find a product through a search engine the item will display at £0.00. This is because search engines sometimes provide stored, cached pages (old 'copies') to speed the search process up. We reserve the right to refuse sale in this situation. Please go to www.hikekit.com clear your computer's Temporary Internet Files (e.g in Microsoft Internet Explorer go to the Tools menu > Internet Options > Delete Files) then refresh the page.

Ownership of Goods
All items supplied to the customer remain the property of www.hikekit.com until final payment of all sums owing in respect of those goods has been received in full by us.

Delivery is £4.00 on all orders, this price is subject to change without notice. Additional Charge may incur if items are sent Special Delivery on your request, Please ring us if you require this service. Items ordered will be delivered as soon as possible and we aim to process and dispatch all orders (not including special order items - see item description) within a few working days of receipt via either Royal Mail and its services or Our Couriors. Although you can have the goods delivered to any address within the mainland U.K. We request that there be someone to sign for the goods upon delivery. We reserve the right to deliver the goods to the cardholders address.

Delivery Schedule We aim to make delivery within five working days (during busy periods this may be extended by a few days).
Please note that special order items may take up to 21 days to be delivered (see item description for further info).
Please note that we will ship stocked lines with special order items if we can deliver them both within the 21 day special order delivery time scale.
PLEASE NOTE WE WILL ONLY DELIVER TO MAINLAND UK.

Any order returned to us due to failed delivery where our couriers have attempted delivery and left contact cards, then received no reply from the customer, will be charged a flat rate of £5.00 restocking fee, whether the customer requests the order to be resent or cancelled. This also applies to orders cancelled once despatched.
Back Orders If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges Hikekit.com prices include VAT at the standard UK rate of 17.5%. In the UK books, maps and certain food are already VAT free.
Credit Card Security Secure Payment
The payment form is used to submit your payment details to GeoTrust, who are an Internet payment gateway. Hikekit.com has a formal agreement with who provide our GeoTrust Certificate to accept payments on our behalf. Any information that is submitted to Thawte is used solely for the purpose of completing your transaction with Hikekit.com and will not be offered or sold to any further parties.

When the order is placed at our website, credit card numbers are encrypted using 128 bit encryption. They are only decrypted after they reach our computer. They are not held in clear text on any web site.
Guarantee All products purchased from hikekit.com are covered by a manufacturers warranty where applicable.

What is covered by Warranty
Warranties cover manufacturing faults and defects - not damage caused by wear and tear, alteration or abuse. If the product you purchased has developed a fault not due to the above, please contact us first before returning as many problems can be solved without you incurring postage.

Returns Policy RETURNS AND REFUNDS
In the event that your purchase is the not suitable you have the right to return it to us unused with the original packaging and labels, within 7 days from the date you receive the goods, for a replacement or refund. You do not have to give a reason when you do this. We cannot accept returns of books and maps unless they are found to be defective. Any Item returned for exchange or replacement to a different size or item will incur a re-delivery charge of £4.00
DISTANCE SELLING REGS
You have a right to cancel your order within 7 working days following the day after the date of delivery for any UNUSED item purchased through the website under the distance selling regulations for refund. This does not apply to any perishable goods, unsealed software or item personalised or made to your specification or. To cancel any item, you can e-mail, fax or Phone us quoting your customer number or order number. You should take reasonable care of the items, retain all original packaging and must not use them. All goods are returned at your own expense unless the item is deemed faulty or incorrect, where we will refund the cost on receipt of the goods. Providing the goods are received back in an unused condition and in their original packaging with all accessories, you will receive a refund within 30 days of your notice to cancel.

Please email or call us on 02920 667939 before returning any goods and complete a Returns Form. Returning your goods implies you have fully read this Returns Policy and accepted our Terms.
CLIMBING and SAFETY GEAR
Also due to Safety legislation we are NOT Legally bound to give refunds on any Climbing Gear due to the implications of re-selling it: All Climbing Equipment must be in its original packaging. Ropes must not be uncoiled. And we will judge each case on its merits.
FOOTWARE RETURNS
Any footwear returned to us must be in its original box and must be packaged in suitable material i.e a Jiffy Bag. Any footwear returned in simply the box are unfortunately not eligible for a refund. If they show signs that they have been USED OUTSIDE the boots will be returned to the sender and a £4.00 charge applied for the postage. Any footwear returned for exchange to a different size will have a £4.00 carriage charge applied for the return postage costs.
RETURNS - BASIC TERMS
New Goods must be returned in the same condition as they were sent with labels intact, in original packaging and unused or altered .We Recommend packages should be sent via a trackable method, such as Post Office Recorded Delivery or any Courior Service. HikeKit is not responsible for packages lost in transit. We cannot accept responsibility for damaged caused when packing goods or when in transit to be returned - please take care!
RETURNS REQUIREMENTS

POSTAGE REFUND
If you have changed your mind regarding goods received, send the item(s) back to us with the original packaging and labeling attached. Subject to the goods being returned to us and accepted by us as being in an Unused Condition and complete, we will refund the cost of the item(s), LESS any Postage Costs (minimum charge of £4.00 plus VAT) incurred by HikeKit in sending the goods to you initially. We will be happy to exchange it but we don't consider it fair play to be expected to pay the collection or re-delivery charges and hence this is the customers responsibility.
Goods are to be returned at the purchasers expense unless a warranty claim is being made.We only refund postage on goods deemed to be warranty by the manufacturer or if we send out the wrong item.. See our Returns Policy

Remittance Terms Disclaimer and Liability Statement

Climbing, mountaineering and other outdoor activities can be hazardous. The selection and use of suitable equipment for particular tasks and climate conditions does require skill. In the interests of your safety and the safety of others, you should ensure that you are properly equipped and trained in the use of the equipment. You should also ensure that you are properly trained in the techniques you will need to employ in pursuit of your chosen activity.
We recommend that you seek and take the advice from a person who is suitably qualified before purchasing your equipment. Once purchased, the equipment should only be used in accordance with the manufacturers' instructions and should likewise be inspected before use and properly maintained.

CLIMBING GEAR
